Sorry I've been away for so long but its business as usual now.
My current projects are many but the one I'm having fun at the moment is designing and stitching a square for a charity quilt, there'll be more on that when I next post, although you can see a peek of it in this picture of my wonderful old sewing machine, specially made for the department store Owen Owens (by New Home) that was once situated in one of the oldest buildings in Shrewsbury.
I'd be lost without it, My only other machine is a Janome Embellisher. I would love to treat myself to either a Bernina or a Janome sewing machine (not sure which, advice would be good if you have a view on which?) However not having an all singing and dancing machine does not prevent me from being creative.
this blog is about where I source my inspiration, supplies and news of whats happening in relation to my work as well as some general day to day stuff as I trundle along. All comments are gratefully received!

The British Button Society
I met some of the British Button Society's members a little while ago and was so impresssed with the vast array of vintage buttons still to be had. I am also impressed with the 'identify your buttons' section for members. I have purchased some lovely victorian buttons from them and am about to join the society myself.
so here's a link to the British Button Society and many other interested parties for other button minded people!

vintage collie dog brooch
Another of my dogs but a bit less life like than the lovable Beany. I'm just mooching around today, still a bit shellshocked from my hand in on Friday, but in a good way.

old tinware
something else I like to collect are vintage tins, this one is for gramaphone needles and is only 5cm wide. It still has a couple of rusty ones inside . I especially like the bird motif and the rusted look to it.

this is a nice little vintage pin
I visited Niagara Falls when I was 12 and then Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe 34 years later, not sure which one I liked the most but I remember both of them so vividly, I wonder which falls I should visit next? One things for sure, I'll be seeing Canada again within the next two years......

bug brooches
I collect bug brooches. I was lucky enough to be give the Bee and Butterfly by the wonderful Christopher. Bees seem quite hard to come by though, don't see many of them about. I can see them coming into my art work when I finish University.....can hardly wait.

ooops, slight miscalculation!
hello World,
had a bit of a horrid realization this am, it's not really 32 days to blast off now, its ONLY 25!!!
I hadn't allowed for the setting up of the show, prepping the area and oooh dear, it is certainly making me focus on what I have to do!
any way today's effort includes yet more wiring and then some fun artwork around chairs, but this time some minature ones I've managed to get, not sure why but extremes of scale has always fascinated me, like the giant knitting needles held by a couple of heavy machines like JCB's actually knitting with heavy gauge cables, saw it in Fibrearts a while ago, and now to the other end of the scale, tiny chairs, my embroidery scissors are in some of the pics to show just how tiny the chairs are.
